the beautiful YMCA Estes Park Center at the door of Rocky Mountain National Park.

The immersive experience includes top quality training in theatre arts from performing arts professionals as well as all the fun outdoor experiences you expect from YMCA of the rockies – swimming, hiking, mini golf, roller skating, escape room, archery, climbing challenge course, arts and crafts. Evening activities include campfires, outdoor movie, olympics, and talent shows.

Daily rehearsals in musical theatre, acting, stage movement, improv, singing and much more! Our focused stage rehearsals will be held daily at the amphitheater where we rehearse for our end of camp performance.

Campers will live in lodge rooms with 4-5 of their peers. Camp life is an opportunity for your child to find their independence in a well-supervised, supportive environment. They will learn how to coexist with their cabin-mates, learn from each other, and form bonds that will last a lifetime.

Our final day of camp, parents will join us at 11:00 for a performance at the amphitheater followed by a family barbecue to close out our wondrous experience. Join us for this crazy fun camp!

Theater Production Camp 2022

Our only requirement – your excitement and willingness to learn! No experience necessary!

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

With abundant opportunities for imaginative sets and costumes, and a host of over-the-top roles for an expandable cast, there’s a part for everyone in this dazzling adventure story.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime).

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
